All wireless visibility solutions require infrastructure devices, or readers, in order to pass wireless signals from tags or sensors to the network. At the core of AeroScout’s infrastructure offering is the Wi-Fi network, which in most cases acts as this reader network. AeroScout has partnered with all of the leading WLAN equipment vendors to integrate their industry-leading Enterprise Networking products with our Wi-Fi-based Active RFID tags and software. Using these partners’ wireless access points as wireless readers, organizations can locate and track their assets with AeroScout tags and software using a single, unified wireless network for data, voice and location services.

In addition to Wi-Fi access points from our WLAN infrastructure partners, AeroScout offers a set of hardware products that can expand the use of the visibility solution to include TDOA-based location, real-time choke-point detection, Ultra-Wideband-based location and more.

• AeroScout Exciters trigger AeroScout's tags as they pass through a tightly-defined area (“choke-point”) to transmit a message that is received by a standard Wi-Fi Access Point or AeroScout Location Receiver, using the same Wi-Fi-based Active RFID tags.
• AeroScout Location Receivers and Location Points provide robust and sophisticated TDOA location measurement capabilities for environments that require different networking or signal protocols, such as outdoors.
• Ultra-Wideband Receivers from AeroScout and partner Time Domain enable the addition of ultra-high accuracy UWB location where desired, using a single dual-mode tag for both Wi-Fi-based visibility and UWB.
